On Saturday I spent my afternoon photographing the York leg of the World Naked Bike Ride 2012.
This is the 7th year that cyclists have hopped on their bikes minus clothing and braved the English summer to raise awareness about the vulnerability of cyclists on roads, as well as to protest against the overuse of and dependance on oil.
This year around 78 men and women participated, stripping off and painting their bodies with messages concerning the cause before cycling a 6.5 mile route through the city of York.
There was a fantastic atmosphere surrounding the ride, and it was great to see so many people gathered together to support something they all felt strongly about. I very much enjoyed photographing the event, I met some lovely people and found everyone friendly and more than willing to pose for a few photos.
